We Need Your Help

Please read this entire post. Yesterday was one of the best and worst days we could have. We met with and played with our matched child. A wonderful boy who gave us hugs, kisses, and called us mom and dad. After those 3 hours we made a trip to the U.S. embassy where we were told that the process would be very long and the outcome not likely positive. We don't know if this is our embassy giving us a worse case scenario or covering their butts or what. Since we are here we are choosing to fight for this. We have made contact with our adoption agency and the two senators from Mississippi. The senators are being forwarded all of our paperwork from our agency and they have said that they will do whatever they can to get us home with children. I say children because we are traveling with another lady Lauren Kitchens, who is also trying to adopt from our agency.

As you know we are in the "pipeline" but apparently now the rules have changed for even these people. We had our referral, invitation to travel, and our plane tickets purchased prior to August 6th (the date of suspension).

We are asking you to please contact the Mississippi Senators or anyone else in congress or in the government that may help. Our Senators have pledged to work for us but please let them know you are also behind this. Hopefully our senators will make contact with Secretary Clinton on the matter soon.

If any part of this did not make sense, please understand that it is now 3am Nepal time and as you can imagine we have had very little sleep. Please continue to send your prayers. Below is the e-mail contact of the Senators staff but please feel free to find a phone number and call them directly.

  1. I wish things were going more smoothly for you. I know it's disheartening to get the information that you have gotten and that you are worn out physically and emotionally. Many prayers are being said for all of you. I will write messages to our officials in Washington and will keep you in my thoughts an prayers.
