Getting Tired

It feels like the movie Groundhog Day over here. Each day is almost identical to the next. We wake up to rain, we get some coffee, one-hour to the orphanage, an hour or so at the orphanage, then an hour back to the hotel - some lunch and then back to the room. Tomorrow Nepal is having a festival celebrating the cow and so we will not make the trip to the orphanage as our representative here says the trip would take hours.

The orphanage visit was good again today and our child enjoyed the chocolate (so did his friend). He was sad to see us leave today and that was difficult. The orphanage has still not been directly contacted by the embassy but we hope it will be soon.

It has been raining for nearly 36 hours straight. Many of the rivers in Kathmandu are near the top of their banks. The rivers here are used for a few purposes. The poor bathe in them, the city dumps the garbage in and near them, and the dead are burned along the banks and so their ashes can be carried to the ocean. We are glad we got all of our shots!

  1. Hang in there! I'd love to see pictures of the cow celebration. That's amazing on many levels. Enjoy the adventure and try to rest when you can. You are still in our thoughts and prayers all the time, everyday.

  5. I am a friend of Amy Adkerson and Amy Fountains (we met at bunko), and I have been keeping up with you daily. I am praying for you guys for the Lord to intervene in this situation. I know He has a plan, even though it seems impossible to see right now.
