Google This

Today we again made a visit to the orphanage and again it was terrific. Upon leaving our child grabbed Karyn's leg and would not let go. He was ready to leave with us. More festivals are on tap the next couple of weeks so orphanage visits may become a bit more difficult.

A few days ago (during a boring period) I added Google analytics to our blog site. We had guessed that maybe 100 or so read our blog. We were surprised to see that in two-days we had 1485 visits from 702 unique users. The readers of this blog are from four countries and 33 states within the U.S. It is clear from some of the locations that former students are following, as well as some of the parents in the "pipeline". Not surprisingly Mississippi leads the list of number of visits and cities (36) with Illinois second in terms of views and cities (29).

Thank you everyone! Karyn and I have always said that we have great jobs and many have heard me say that the Geosciences department at MSU is the best on campus, because of our people (faculty and students). Communication is also quite amazing in terms of the support they have shown Karyn and myself. From the President of MSU down through the ranks, we have received nothing but well wishes and offers of help. Our church family and your church families, across the country, have included us in their prayers and we receive messages of support from so many through e-mails each day. None of this will ever be forgotten!

So MSU really laid the wood to Memphis last night! While we were unable to watch the game in any fashion, it was great to read the box score. We hope that we will have some access to the game on Thursday (likely just updated internet stats). We were hoping that espn3 would work here in Nepal, but surprise surprise they are not one of the preferred broadband providers.

Thanks again for all of the continued support!

  2. I'm sure leaving after a great visit with your son is really difficult, but how sweet to know that he is ready to go with you as soon as the embassy says it is time. I continue to pray that this will be the week! And, how facinating to know the demographics of your blog readers! That'll be fun for you to follow each day!

  3. Dear Mike & Karyn,

I don't know if I am getting thru to you, but even people at our church are asking about your adoption process.

Your little guy sounds like a real corker.

    Much love and success,

    Chris Bergren

  7. Thinking of you and praying for you daily. Keep up the blogs! It's great to be able to follow what's happening to you over there. Wish it would end soon so you can come home and start enjoying that little boy. Hang in there as it will all be worth it when you get him home. Take care. Ab and Twila
