A Quite Day

Today we spent a lot of time learning words (he does better than us). The waiters at the cafe try to teach us what he is saying and how to answer and we have been working with picture cards to teach him some English words. He is doing great and picking up the words quickly. Our hotel has an outdoor area with about a dozen rabbits. We found a nice rabbit today that let us pet him. Then we found another rabbit and we tried to kick it. So we left the rabbit area. Diwas is getting bored. There is only so much you can do in and around a hotel. There are very limited outdoor areas where a young one can play.
Just on the outskirt of the tourist area are some meat markets. We snapped this picture of a wild hog. The wild hogs are caught in the jungles at the base of the mountains and brought to the city for consumption. The hair is left on a portion of the pig to visually verify the wild nature of the beast. Speaking of beasts tomorrow we are heading to the zoo.

  1. Hi Kids! Hang in there...and rejoice! It sounds like our little guy is wonderfully, excitingly typical little boy! WooHoo! Dad and I look at the blog first thing every morning; this has become a delightful way to start our day. Interesting pic of the hog. But we're bummed, because we can't get the pics from yesterday to come up :( But soon we'll get to see all of you for real!! We love you and are rejoicing with you in this new (and improved!) adventure. Keep safe, Be Happy, and remember you all are loved so very much.

  2. I'm so glad Diwas is doing so well with the English words. I know he will pick it up so quickly once he gets here and gets acclimated. I wish there were more places to run around there. Take heart, though, you wouldn't be running around outside if you were in Starkville today either! It's been quite cold and rainy/icy/snowy here! It is actually supposed to get up to 42 today, but it is very dreary looking outside! We love you! Hopefully you'll be home soon!

  3. How about the Garden of Dreams, the Hotel Shanker, Mike's Breakfast has a great place to play, the civil mall has a huge bouncy area to play in... just a few new ideas.
