Two Good Visits

Our meeting with the embassy went very well. April at the embassy was very helpful with information and looking over a couple of our forms that we had questions about. It appears that all is in order and we just need the adoption decree, the Nepali travel documents, and his medical exam. We hope to have these in the next couple of weeks. We had our last orphanage visit before we adopt tomorrow. It is quite clear that he has touched everyone at that orphanage. His main caretaker was very quite today and even cried a bit knowing she has such little time left with him. While that is difficult see, it is so nice to know how much he was loved and cared for. The director of the orphanage said it best yesterday when he said "he (our child) is not leaving us, instead you are now a part of our family".

This is the second post today so you may want to look below. Keep us in your prayers as tomorrow is a BIG day!

  1. You will all be in our thoughts and prayers - even more than usual. He is old enough to have memories of these kind people at the orphanage. He is also old enough to understand and appreciate what is happening. Kids know much more than adults realize, they just don't bother to fill us in.

  3. What a tear jerker! I can only imagine how the caretaker and the whole orphanage feel. It's not like he's going down the road. But, as the director said, you have gained not just a son, you have gained a very large family who loves and cares about Diwas. How exciting is that? I'm so thankful the embassy visit went well! That is a HUGE blessing!! Looking forward to hearing that you have signed the decree and you have your son with you!!!

  4. Both of these posts brought tears to my eyes! I'm just overjoyed that things are going so smoothly. The emotions that you and the orphanage caretakers are experiencing must be overwhelming. The pictures and stories that you'll be able to share with your son about the orphanage and this journey are priceless.
