Back In Kathmandu

We entered the Memphis airport at 7am (central) on Wednesday and arrived in Kathmandu a short 42 hours later. All of the flights were uneventful and on-time or early. Upon arriving in Kathmandu at 1:30pm (1:45am Friday central) we stopped by the hotel to unload our luggage (we were upgraded to the Mt. Everest room)and then ran to the orphanage. We did not know what to expect and were nervous that we might be starting from scratch to regain his trust. We did not need to be nervous. It was as if we were never gone for the long 4 1/2 months. We were greeted with smiles, hugs, and kisses. When the gummy bears made an appearance we got to see the silly child that we remembered. The orphanage is being so kind and welcoming. They have told us we can come and visit today (Saturday / Holy Day) since we had been gone so long. We are going to take advantage of every opportunity. We will visit each day through the signing the adoption decree (which is scheduled for Tuesday). From that point forward he will be with us. Then we will have to get his passport (this will take the longest amount of time), a medical exam, and have an interview with the U.S. embassy. All told we expect to be here approx. 3-weeks.
To summarize: we made it here safely; we had a great visit with our child; we are looking forward to seeing this process through.
Thank you everyone for your endless support!
